December Happenings

Wow! It feels like forever since I posted on the blog.  With the holidays and working full-time the blog got a little neglected.  I apologize to my 10 loyal followers. :-)

First I wanted to let you know what I've been up to.  My daughter was selected to participate in New York States All State Mixed Chorus Ensemble in Rochester this year.  She received a perfect score on her NYSSMA audition in the spring.  She was also selected to the All County Chorus here on Long Island.  We went to see her perform in Rochester at the beginning of December.  What an amazing experience.  One that I will cherish forever and I'm so grateful my daughter got to participate in.

Next, my daughter won the roll in her High School play as Rizzo in Grease.  This is one proud Mom here.  Here is the video of her as Rizzo
For more proud Mom moments check out my YouTube channel at Ozsome21.  There are also videos on the side of my blog you can click that will take you to my YouTube Channel.

In the midst of the whirl wind I found a bit of creative time.  I missed my demonstrators Christmas Party but the girls in my card club are so sweet and moved the club date to the following week after my daughters play.  Michelle and Angela even came to see Emily which was so so nice of them.

Decembers card club exchange was to use the bird punch from Stampin Up

You didn't have to make a bird out of it so it was fun to see what the girls came up with.

Here are all our cards from the exchange.

This is Rachelle's card and she made a tag too! She made a swam out of the bird and the flowers!

Michelle made the flame out of the bird feather.  What a pretty card!

Here is Angela's card and she stamped the inside too.  She made a Cardinal!  I found out she loves cardinal's.

Here is Cindy's delicate card.  She used the leaves to create the wreath.

This is Liz's pretty card.  She had the same idea as Michelle to make the candle and I love how she used the Top Note Die Cut for the inside of the card.  I have been on the fence about getting this die cut and this pushed me over. It's on my order form this month. :-)

Here is my Card.  Tracy was unable to attend our card club as she was under the weather but she made something similar to mine.  I used everything in the punch to create mine.  The vase is actually the bird.

This was a wonderful handmade gift from Michelle to all of us girls.  All StampIn Up!  The embellishments she made into earring for us!  So pretty!

This was our project!  I just love this!

To make this Start with a a piece of paper 10" X 8 3/4".
On the 10" side mark with a pencil at the 5" mark.
Then cut with your paper trimmer from your 5" mark to the corner so you are making a triangle.
Score lines at 4 3/8" and 5 7/8" on all sides of the triangle and fold.

The envelope is made with the Envelope maker and the paper size is 9X9.

Wow!  So much going on! So much to show you.  I hope you had a wonderful Holiday Season and happy New Year!

November Card Club

I love getting together with these ladies once a month, making a great project provide by my leader Michelle Halleen and doing our card exchange.  This ladies are just so talented and so much fun to craft with.  This month the challenge exchange was to make a tag, it could be any occasion. Angela was our hostess this month. Thanks Angela!!
Here are the tags

These tags are so great, I don't want to use them!

This is Tracy's card. It's a shaker tag and Liz and I couldn't stop playing with it.  It has little micro beads inside the window with the snowman and they almost cling to the snowman.

This is the front and back of Michelle's tag.  So awesome!

This is the front and back of Cindy's tag.  Cindy was so hesitant to show us her tag and I think it's just adorable.  She actually made two tags and couldn't decide which one to use for the exchange, so after asking what the other tag looked like she reluctantly showed us and gave us them too!  Look at how beautiful her second tag is too! We were lucky to get two tags from Cindy this week!

Here's my tag.  This is one piece and I used the tag topper punch and oval thinlit to cut them out.
On the bottom are the other items I used in my tag.

Here is Liz's cute tag, we both had the same idea using our Tree punches.

Here is Rachelle's tag.  I'm a big snowman freak, so I will be CASEing this tag.  She used the oval Thinlit to make him.

Here is Angela's adorable pocket tag, you could slip money or a gift tag in the pocket as well.

Here are the great little projects we made with Michelle.

This is a adorable gift card holder.  Using the Gift card Envelope Thinlit.

This adorable little box is made using the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlit dies.

I had made another tag when I was creating mine for the exchange so I thought I'd show it here too.  I didn't use this design for the exchange but I like the tag.  It has a country feel.

If you'd like to create your own card club I'd love to do one with you.  Just send me an e-mail at or go to my website

Gratitude for Days

I'm trying to teach my children more about gratitude.  In there busy lives they tend to forget to be grateful for the things they have and for what others do for them.  Around Thanksgiving is a perfect time to re-enforce what being grateful means. I decided to use the Gratitude for Days kit that Stampin Up has to have the kids, and myself, write down for 30 days what we are grateful for. Then I'm going to scrapbook them for a keepsake.

I used some of my Stampin Up Thank you stamps and the Stamp that came with this months paper pumpkin kit.

Today is November 1st so we started writing down on the cards what we are grateful for.  At the end of the month we will sit down and look at what the 30 days of Gratitude has shown us.  It will be fun to look at this next year.

October Card Club Swap

This months theme for my card club was to create a card in black and white only.  The creative ladies came up with some really fabulous cards as always.

We had everyone attend the club this month so it was nice to see everyone.

This is Tracy's Card.  It is an anniversary card, and I needed one for my cousin so this one was already given away.  Thanks Tracy!

This is Michelle's Beautiful Card!

This is Liz's Card. When you open it the window in the middle is revealed! So awesome!

This is Rachelle's Card she hand cut out the flowers!!

Cindy Created this adorable tuxedo card!

Angela created this adorable card!

This is my card. :-)

We also made cookies this month using the cookie press by Stampin Up and then made a box to put them in with the Box Punch board.  I also won the little door prize this month which was this cute little Halloween fry box filled with Candies.

Here are just a few products I used in my card.

Christmas Tree Card

This is my card that I made for my first demonstrator swap.  We had to make 15 cards this time and it was a challenge to get them all done in time.

The challenge this month was to use one of the Swing Card Thinlits that Stampin Up has.

I just got my Big Shot so this was a great project to get started with.

I used the Dazzling Detail glitter glue for the first time and liked the results!

I used so many fun products.  This is a great card for the holidays.  Below are all the items I used. Just click on the link below the item and it will take you right to my website.
