Crafting is a Stress Relief

Over the past several years I've had this wonderful craft space where I can go for just 15 minutes a day or hours in a day and just be.  I can create or recreate something.  Just the fact that I'm crafting has a sense of calming over me.  I can engross myself in making my project perfect, or I can walk away after just a few minutes leaving all my creativity out to reexamine at another time.  Some days or even weeks I can not design, my mind is not into it, and I stare blankly at what I should do, but I still like to create.  That's when I'll pull out a kit to do, maybe it's a card kit or scrapbook page kit.  Just the fact that I can put it together gives me a sense of accomplishment.

This weeks card was one of those ones I made by going into my craft room for about 10 or 15 minutes here and there and just coming up with a creation. I like it when that happens.  I felt like last weeks card was just so blah so I wanted to design something this week that was a little more involved. I'm still moving back into my craft space so things are all over the place but I was able to come up with this pretty design.

Here is the inspirational sketch from Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge

Here is my take on the sketch.  I turned my card the long way.

I used my Cricut Explore to cut the flowers out of  WE R Memories Feeling Grovy Paper.  The background orange is card stock from Stamp In Up and the tag with the thank you stamp is a random sticker I had.  The Thanks Much stamp is from Stampin Up Six Sided Sampler.  I added bakers twine to the bottom and a small button.  I always need Thank you cards, so I went with that sentiment.

Believe in Whoooo you are!

Unfortunately I did not have the time I would have liked to devote to this weeks sketch. It's just a simple cute little card with an Owl with a cute saying which I thought was perfect for graduation season.

The Stamps are CTMH I'm not sure the name of the set.  The background paper is Stampin Up Sweet Taffy designer series.  I added a bit of Stickle to the owl.
Here is the original sketch.  I did turn it sideways.
I'd love to see what you create with this weeks sketch.
Go to Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge and submit your entry.  They are also looking for new Design Team members so if you would like to be a part of the team add DT to the end of your upload so they know you're interested.

Hello Sweet Friend

This weeks Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge #59

I had a totally different vision when I started making this. First it started out as a scrapbook page but the picture I wanted to use wasn't working.  Then I thought the flourishes could be lollipops and I could make a birthday card. That wasn't working either so my design evolved into this card and I love it!

I used Stampin Ups Watercolor Wonder paper as the background.  I had some left over scraps from the Stampin Up All Occasion Card Kit so I used the scalloped tag piece and stamped the Hello Sweet Friend from Stampin Up Six-Sided Sampler stamp set.  The Flourishes are from Close to My heart Playful Flourishes, then I Stickled those and added tiny pearls.  I also put some ribbon in the middle.  I love how I had the colors and this all tied together.

I bumped the saying and the middle part up with dimensional adhesive.

I would love to see what you create with this weeks sketch. Just click here and join the fun!
