My Wedding Invitation

I'm so excited to finally blog about my Wedding Invitation.  The Invitations went out over a week ago and everyone should have received them by now. I had such a great time coming up with the design of these.  I knew right away I wanted my invitation to be a castle. I purchased the Cricut Cartridge Princess Party and started playing around with a card cutout that opens up.
So this is the basics of the card.

Once I designed the whole thing I went to work on assembling it.

This is what I had at first and decided it needed a ribbon to keep it closed and a little more bling!

I designed this to go around the front of the card

This is the inside of the card. On the left is the reception information and on the right is general information about our wedding website and accommodations. I printed these out from my Hallmark Card studio program. I added the sparkly trim to both sides and more bling on the top scalloped edge.

I needed something to protect them a little in shipping so I slipped them into these handy dandy clear envelopes that I got from Stampin Up.
I also made up a response card to stick inside.  Just a simple ivory and purple card.
It probably took me two months to design and make all of these, and I only made 22. I'm glad I finally finished them so I would stop looking at them and thinking it needed something more. The pictures don't do them justice, they are so cute and go so well with my castle themed wedding plans.

Pre-wedding scrapping

I wanted to participate in two challenges this week.  One is the AHSC #44 and the other was a color challenge on The Memory Nest.
This was the color challenge from The Memory Nest

The challenge was to use these colors and one of the phrases in the photo.
I remembered I had some papers from Stampin Up that had "Love" theme and very similar colors.
So I looked at the AHSC sketch for the week.

I thought I would do a scrapbook page instead of a card with this weeks sketch using the color challenge.  Now what picture to use.  I remembered I had a picture on my phone of the night my fiance and I got engaged and thought that might work for the page, and since I'm in wedding mode with just 70 days until the wedding I thought perfect!

Here is my end result.

The first picture is a little washed out.  The second picture gives you more of the idea because it's more close up.
You can play along with these challenges too but clicking the links above!

Card Crazy

I'm having such a great time making cards lately. I am a scrapbooker at heart but have found some new inspiration to create some fun cards with the Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge AHSC. I am going to use one of the sketches to create a scrapbook page as the sketches are not limited to just cards.

Here is my creation for Sketch # 43.

I used decorative paper from my DCWV stack Timeless Texture.  This stack has some goregous papers in it. I  had a stamp from CTMH called Treasure Life that I have never used. I  individually stamped the flowers with two diffent colors and inked the edges. The Ink I used was CTMH Creme BruleeI.  I love this color. I used some stickles to make it sparkle a bit and added the little pearls to add a little something. I used ribbon on the corners.
I'm not much of a flower person but I really like how this came together.

Here is the original AHSC Sketch

Baby Chipboard Album

My newest creation.  A word album by Bo Bunny that I decorated and embellished. I had so much fun making this baby album.  It is a clean and simple design and offers many places for pictures.

This cute album is available in my Etsy shop. I only have one of these. This can be personalized and I can also complete the album with your pictures. Check  Etsy Shop Link for more information.

New Blog Look

I decided it was time for a change of design on my blog. I wanted a Banner that was a little more fun, so I enlisted the help of my 14 year old son who is great with that little program called GIMP. I of course had to pay him to come up with it but it was worth it because it's so cute.  I may have him make me a new banner every 6 months or so to keep things fresh and I've got him thinking about a Logo graphic design.

The new banner didn't match my background so I changed that too. I think it's more fun and inviting.
I've got a new AHSC coming up soon, and I will be posting my finished wedding invitation very soon,  as these will be going out this week!

Challenge Sketch #41 AHSC

I'm so excited to post my first Sketch as a member of the Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge design team.

I decided to use quilling on my first design.  I haven't done any quilling in awhile and I love how it looks.
Here is my finished product.

I cut out a piece of patterned paper I had from my DCWV Sweet Stack.  It had the nice border already on the top of the paper.  Then I took a pair of decorative scissors and cut the bottom of my card to look wavy.
Next, I quilled the cupcake and embellishments and added them on and then added the congratulations sticker I had and some nice blue jewels to add the bottom.  I also put a piece of blue paper on the inside of the card on the bottom and added the same color quilling strips to the top and bottom.

Here is the original sketch:

If you would like to join in on the challenge click on Challenge #41 right here and it will take you to the page to show you how to join in on the fun!
You  could be choosen to be in the top 3 of  the challenge and given a cool little badge to display on your blog or website.

Design Team ASHC

I'm excited to announce I've been asked to participate on the Design Team with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenges.

I will be posting my designs right here on my blog and providing links so you can see all the other wonderful designs and entries in the challenges.  I hope those of you who are crafty will participate in the challenges that are posted. It's a great way to get the creative juices flowing!

Blog Challege Sketch #40

I decided to try my hand at a challenge I can across on Altantic Hearts Challenge Blog.  The challenge was to take a sketch they posted and come up with your own version of the sketch.

Here is what I came up with.

I got this cute new stamp set from Close To my Heart, and I had this paper from Sassafras that looked like fabric so I thought this was so cute.

I double stamped the chair and popped up all the layers for a nice 3-D effect.
